I Feel Excited But Stupid Too

Alright, so on July 21 I posted the following on the blog:

Hey.

Just thought I would let everyone (meaning my mom and a the faithful base of readers) know that I am taking a break from blogging for the next several days.
And then I posted this on Facebook (and a shorter version on Twitter):

Took a break from blogging for a few days recently and I loved it so much I am retiring as a blogger (no, really). I hope y’all enjoyed it (it was
fun most days). Why am I doing this (thanks for asking)? Just simplifying my life and focusing on other things (which sounds too …serious).

As of this writing, I am at the Echo Conference (thanks to a free ticket from my friend Adam Kring) and I attended the breakout led by Scott McClellan called “The Most Epic Blogging Breakout Ever”. And because I had tried my hand at blogging and help manage several other people’s blogs, a lot of the content was reminding me of stuff I already knew but in a positive way (a refresher course).
