Embrace Your Place

This is the sermon that I heard at NCC: Georgetown Campus last Sunday and I can’t get it off my mind. Christine Caine (from Hillsong Church & the A21 Campaign) blew me away. It was like watching Inception, on rewind, with Japanese subtitles. Okay, not really but you get the point. I had heard of her but I had never heard her speak. She brought wisdom as well as funny stories and is a small but feisty preacher lady. In this message, she referenced everything from dirty underwear to getting some action (within the context of marriage, of course).

So, the audio is pretty shaky in the beginning and yes, the video is pretty lengthy but this message will give you a new perspective on where you are at, what you are doing and where you are headed.

If you decide to watch it, I would love to hear what you took away from this message personally…

Don’t think I’ve ever commented before, although I’ve been a lurker for a while now :)

That message was pretty awesome and something I really needed to hear…Just got reminded of how I need to embrace where I am at now as a college freshman, how I need to seek God and trust Him to take me where he wants me to go. I need to have more ‘Not my will, but Thine’ moments.

Thanks for posting this…and for blogging :) Keep up the great work!

Hey Cynthia, thanks for stopping by and dropping a line! I am always curious how people find the blog, so how did you stumble upon it?

In regards to the message, I was glad I could share it. Yeah, that whole idea of “Not my will, but Thine” is so easy to replace with, “Bless me as I do this for you, God.” I think that if we don’t learn how to embrace the place, the danger is that we will always ask that question no matter where we are.

Ummm I don’t remember how I got here…I’m guessing we frequent a lot of the same blogs and somebody either gave you a shout out or I saw one of your comments, not really sure though.

And yeah, totally agree…it’s all about embracing our place.
