What Is Your Passion?
The notion of passion may seem unrelated to productivity and only slightly associated with creativity, but I feel that its relationship with the two is much more.
In fact, I would go so far as to say that passion fuels both productivity and creativity.
Think about it like this. Have you ever been assigned to complete a task or project that you didn’t feel passionate about.
I bet that you procrastinated on that project and when it was completed, it was completed with the minimum accepted requirements.
I remember in college, we had to write papers all the time. At the end of one particular semester, I had twenty-five pages of papers due.
Most of the subjects, I was ambivalent towards and I had certainly caught the procrastination bug.
What did I do? I waited until the last minute to finish, bought a lot of RedBull and used the font Palatino (it is the largest acceptable font at 12pt).
On the other hand, when I am working on a task or project that I am passionate about-I get started early and I complete it with all the bells and whistles.
One thing that I am really passionate about right now, is leveraging technology to its fullest, for the Gospel of Jesus.
From blogging, to media used in service, to offering the highest quality video messages online with limited resources, to connecting with volunteers (which we call Servant Leaders) through social networks.
What is something that you are passionate about right now?
Living my life to glorify God.
Reaching others especially those He has placed right here, right now.
Loving with all my heart!
Love it…
How would you say that is lived out practically, on a daily and tangible way?
Everything I do is with a love that is greater than myself. When I talk about reaching others right here and right now I am refering to people who are placed directly in my path for that day. Family, friends, people who work for me, those that are walking next to me on the street, etc. In those daily moments I want to be God’s hand, His heart, His positive energy, His hope for my world.
Remember there is always one thing that we can give away extravagantly…..LOVE
I just blogged about how some people view things as passion where others see it as punishment and the difference in their perspective.
Right now I am personally passionate about leading people to the freedom from negative self images so they can live their life for God and not others…
That is great!
I know you personally, so I know how you live out your passion, but for other readers-could you briefly explain how you and your organization does that?
Well Free 4 Life Fitness is a gorup that God birthed in my spirit to help people who (like myself) have had a long time battle with weight issues and/or self esteem issues. Basicially God has taught me so much about how our bodies function and what we need to do to make sure we honor HIM with our food and activity choices. In teaching me that He has also walked me through the process of loving myself and accepting who HE created me to be. He has now directed me to pass that information along to others. I am so honored to be a part of His plan for restoring freedom to people who may not even know what freedom truly is. Our group has seen huge successes in only 3 short months and I know the things they are going to accomplish will astound them! My passion is to help as many people as I can find freedom from hating themselves and begin a journey to loving who they are in Christ!
BTW I hate typos…sorry I need to proof better b4 I submit. OH! and if any of your readers might be interested or know someone who needs some encouragement in that area please have them email me
right now I am passionate about my family. My grandkids have birthdays coming up. Wayne is getting ready to go to Michigan for 3 weeks. My son Bryan will be gone to Korea for a year so I really want to spend as much time with him as possible before he leaves.
I also want God to be glorified with my whole heart and my life.
Thanks for coming back and joining the discussion!
I think birthdays (celebration of them) is a great and tangible way to express the importance of family. They are great memory markers that children will look back to with love.
