Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes!

CandyThis morning, Pastor Chris announced some staffing changes at Family Life Church.

(Pastor Chris is the Lead Pastor of Family Life Church, which is the place where I serve on staff)

Stewart McPheters has joined the executive staff as the Chief Operations Officer. He recently moved back to Brunsick, GA from Oklahoma to take the position.

Little known fact, Stewart gave me my first car! Really. It was an old-school Benz.

Starting today, Pastor Chris asked me to step out of my role as the Middle School Pastor and into a role we are calling, “Communications Pastor”.

More on what exactly that looks like is coming soon. I am “little kid in a candy store” excited about this! Hence the picture.

Bob & Michelle Pitchford have stepped into the role of Interim Middle School Directors. They have been an integral part of the Middle School Ministry since its inception over a year ago. I can’t think of anyone who I would trust more with this position and I thinkĀ  it is a perfect fit.

Little know fact, Bob is a fantastic street basketball player and Michelle is a Rock Band veteran.

What is a little known fact about yourself?

    1. I read cookbooks all the time. I just enjoy reading them and not always trying the recipes.
    2. I think Meryl Streep is the bomb.
    3. I REALLY enjoy board games/cards/nintendo.
Sorry…had to include 3 for kicks and giggles.

I am a huge Meryl Streep fan as well, partially because her name is so cool!

      Have you ever played Nerts?
If not, Hannah & I should show y’all.

Well I evidently shared one of mine earlier this week when I told you I am a metal head (as in heavy metal not that i have a metal plate in my head, although that isn’t bad for anyone reading that may have a metal plate in their head)..ok, moving on
So I guess I will have to share another…hum….
I am very competitive, this is a trait that has evidently just surfaced???? Who knew?
Here is a little known fact about my husband though…hehe I am just sharing cuz I CAN:
He has to eat things/do things in even numbers. For example he can’t just eat one grape or 3 grapes it must be 2 or 4 etc… it cracks me up! I love it :)

OK Toddslove… Way to rat me out! Yes, I may have some compulsive behaviors but at least they are even numbers. I wouldn’t want to be odd! You need one grape for each side of your mouth. It’s just better that way!!!!

Yes, I did find it amusing that you were a rabbit-killing, barbed wire bracelet wearing, heavy metal fan!

And I like how you hijacked the post to talk about a little known fact about Pastor Todd. I liked it because not only did I not know that fact, but it is…well…interesting.

One little known fact–well, Shawn knows this, I want to build and live in a log cabin. I think natural wood is THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING. When I see these homes on the travel channel, I almost cry!

      That is awesome!

My mom has had a long-time aspiration of living in an Amish community. No joke, she is pretty set on doing it-maybe y’all can start a compound…

(I would visit, although I am not a compound kind of guy)

A ‘weird’ fact about me is I seperate my m&m’s into colors and then eat in order until all are the same number (6 reds, 6 greens, etc) then I eat them one at a time. I know it is weird but that is me~

I absolutely love to do laundry.. love it! Seriously I do…

    • Blane Young June 7, 2010 at 7:00 pm #

That is awesome! I like seeing how many m&m’s I can eat in one mouthful…

I dislike laundry but love to organize!

a little know fact. HMMMMMM. I met my husband when I was 15. My mom made me go with her to square dance lessons. We drove back to the town where she worked and pulled up in front of the school cafeteria. There were all these people dressed weird! The women had these dresses on that poofed out. The men wore these western style shirts and leisure suits, (yes, I’m serious, polyester leisure suits). I did NOT want to go into that cafeteria with those weird people. What was my mother getting me into?
And then I saw Wayne for the first time. He had 5 girls chasing after him wanting him to dance with them. I was into romance novels at the time. He was NOTHING like the heros in my books. And I did NOT like him. I guess you could say he grew on me. (kinda like a fungus LOL). We’ve been married for over 30 years, known each other for over 35 years. And it all started with a do-si-do

      What a great story!

I had no idea that Wayne was a fungi, square dancer!

Seriously, that is awesome (Not the leisure suits, but everything else).
